One man has been arrested in Jefferson City after leading authorities on a chase and being found with drugs.
Officers reportedly initiated a traffic stop on 34-year-old Carl Anderson Jr. around 5:55 p.m. Wednesday in Jefferson City, but when he was asked to exit the vehicle, he drove away and started a pursuit, which allegedly reached speeds of 120 miles per hour on Highway 54, running another motorist off the road in the process.
Officers apprehended Anderson when he drove into a ditch after about 15 miles of pursuit. Upon his arrest, the officers found one pound of methamphetamine and 6.5 ounces of marijuana.
Anderson has been charged with Aggravated Fleeing a Stop or Detention, Operate a Motor Vehicle in a Careless and Imprudent Manner,Second-Degree Trafficking Drugs,Tampering with Physical Evidence in Felony Prosecution.
He was brought to the Callaway County Jail where he is being held without bond.
