A Mexico man is in custody after leading an officer on a pursuit twice yesterday {Wednesday} morning.
Probable cause statements say that at around 2:12 a.m. Wednesday, an officer tried to pull over 24-year-old Dontavis K’Patrick Aaron for a modified exhaust and for running multiple stop signs in the Muldrow and Jackson Street area, before Aaron sped away and escaped the officer.
The same officer reported seeing Aaron about an hour later and Aaron allegedly led the officer on another short pursuit, running stop signs and speeding, but eventually pulled over around 3:38 a.m. on Holt Street.
Aaron has been charged with Aggravated Fleeing a Traffic Stop, Operating a Vehicle without a Valid License, Failure to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle, and Operating a Motor Vehicle in a Careless and Imprudent Manner.
He was taken to the Audrain County Jail without bond and has a bond review scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 9th.
