Northeast Columbia House Destroyed in Sunday Morning Fire
A house in northeast Columbia is a total loss after an early Sunday morning fire.
The Columbia Fire Department says crews responded to the 600 block of Tara Lane around 4:40 a.m.,
but had difficulty locating the home because of limited access.
Firefighters found the two-story house fully engulfed in flames.
A narrow bridge and the lack of nearby fire hydrants made the response more challenging, prompting additional assistance from the Boone County Fire Protection District.
No one was home at the time, and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
