Jefferson City authorities began an investigation this afternoon into a “suspicious object” that was found in Binder Lake.
A submerged sedan was removed from lake at about 4:44 p..m., which authorities say has been submerged for a significant amount of time.
After the vehicle was removed, the Missouri State Highway Patrol Dive Team conducted a second scan of the area. No
additional anomalies were located, according to a news release from JCPD. The incident has been assigned to the Jefferson City Police Department Detective Unit foradditional follow-up due to the suspicious nature of the circumstances, says the release.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol Dive Team assisted in the investigation, while tow truck was also reportedly present at the scene.
