Two Mexico residents are being held in the Montgomery County jail after officers found a large amount of drugs and improvised explosives during a traffic stop.
An officer initially pulled the vehicle over for failure to stop at a stop sign near West Ford Street and South Sturgeon Street.
Upon making the traffic stop, the officer found a glass pipe in the passenger’s lap, and ordered them out of the car, where the officer found another glass pipe, ten sealed bags of psilocybin mushrooms, and a loaded revolver.
The officer also found two shotgun shells that were cut in half and glued back together with fuses attached, and there were three devices in total.
A sergeant on the bomb squad arrived on the scene was able to render the devices safe.
The driver, who was 35-year-old Tiffany Nock, was charged with Deliver Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession Of A Firearm, two counts of Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Use Of Weapon – Possess Weapon And A Felony Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession Of Illegal Weapon, Possession of Controlled Substance, and a misdemeanor count of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
The passenger was 32-year-old Kyle Hammons, who was charged with with Deliver Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession Of A Firearm, two counts of Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Use Of Weapon, Unlawful Possession Of Illegal Weapon, Possession of Controlled Substance, and a misdemeanor count of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Nock was brought to the Montgomery County Jail on a $25,000 bond, while Hammons was jailed without bond.
