Murder Trial Set for Teen Accused of Killing a Macon Man

A jury trial for murder was scheduled yesterday for a Columbia teen accused of killing a Macon man in a marijuana deal gone wrong.

17-year-old Kavon Williams is charged with Second Degree Murder and First Degree Robbery from an incident on January of 2024, where police arrested him in connection to the disappearance and death of Malik Jones of Macon.

Court documents say that Jones’ body was initially dumped on the side of the road soon after their marijuana deal and his body was later found in a wooded area.

Williams’ four-day jury trial is set for 9 a.m. May 3, 2027, while he continues to be held in the Boone County Jail.
