Columbia to Hold Another Recycling Drop-Off Event

The City of Columbia Solid Waste Utility will host a recycling drop-off event on August 29 at the Grissum Building at 1313 Lakeview Ave.

People will be able to drop of mixed containers, mixed fibers and glass bottles and jars.

The City asks that residents separate their recyclables by type before arriving.

Drivers should approach from the east on Lakeview Avenue and turn right into the lot. They will also be required to turn right onto Lakeview Avenue when leaving, and no left turns will be allowed.

Columbia closed its recycling drop-off centers in the wake of an EF1 tornado that destroyed the city’s Material Recovery Facility.
