Columbia Teen Enters Guilty Plea and Gets Sentenced in 2025 Shooting

A Columbia teenager accused in a January 2025 shooting pleaded guilty in court Monday.

17-year-old Samiyon Myers pleaded guilty to second degree assault, armed criminal action and second-degree drug trafficking in an incident where six juveniles were arrested on January 19, 2025 in the 2100 block of West Worley Street.

Myers was sentenced to five years for the assault charge, three years for the armed criminal action charge and 15 years for the drug trafficking charge, according to court records. The sentences for the assault charge and armed criminal actions were set to be served consecutively to each other but concurrently with the 15-year sentence.
