Jefferson City Academic Center Gets New Home
The Jefferson City Academic Center is starting the school year in a new, larger location.
The Jefferson City School District held a grand opening Monday for the renovated facility on St. Mary’s Boulevard.
The center previously operated out of the Miller Performing Arts Center, where teachers say classrooms were too small for students’ needs.
Staff say the new space will allow for larger classrooms and more opportunities for hands-on learning.
The renovations were funded through the district’s 85-million-dollar Kids FIRST bond issue, approved by voters in 2023.
The center is now ready for students for the 2026-27 school year.
