CFD Gives All-Clear After Gas Leak in Central Columbia

The Columbia Fire Department has reported all-clear for an area with a reported gas leak Thursday morning near St. James Street and Park Avenue.

A fire department spokesperson said that a gas line was hit during construction, prompting firefighters to redirect foot traffic away from the area.

Clark said the all-clear was given about 40 minutes after the incident was reported, as Ameren Missouri stopped the gas leak and the Boone County Office of Emergency Management helped in getting the word out to avoid the area.
