Former Mizzou Student Critical After Rooftop Fall

A former University of Missouri student remains in critical condition after falling from the rooftop bar at Harpo’s Bar and Grill in Columbia Sunday night.

Corbin Rodenberg, a Chillicothe High School graduate, fell from the second-story Skyy Bar. No lawsuit has been filed.

A personal injury attorney says any potential case would likely focus on premises liability.

City inspectors found the rooftop guardrail met the 42-inch height required by city code in 2018.

But the attorney says meeting code is only the minimum, and other factors could include the bar’s layout, warning signs and whether employees enforced safety rules.

Harpo’s says its thoughts are with Rodenberg and his family as he recovers.
