Vibes Nightclub Shooting Case in Court Today

A man accused of shooting two people at a Columbia nightclub in 2020 is scheduled for a pretrial hearing Today.

Curtis Allen Lewis faces charges including involuntary manslaughter, assault and two counts of armed criminal action.

Court records say Lewis allegedly shot a security guard and a woman at Vibes Night Club. The guard, Tershawn Kitchen, later died at a local hospital. The woman survived a gunshot wound to the face.

Lewis is scheduled for a four-day jury trial beginning September 29th.

He has also asked the judge for a speedier trial, citing concerns with his defense and the prosecution.
