Moberly Daycare Abuse Trial Begins Today

The child abuse trial of a former Moberly daycare owner is set to begin Today.

Naomi Hess faces four counts of abuse or neglect of a child, with no sexual contact.

Hess owned Play N’ Learn Daycare when a hotline tip was sent to Moberly Police alleging physical and emotional abuse involving three two-year-olds and a three-year-old.

Court documents say a daycare employee recorded video of the alleged abuse.

Hess voluntarily surrendered her daycare license to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in August 2024.

Her bench trial begins at 9am this morning in the Randolph County Courts
