Certification Hearing Set for Teen in Columbia Shooting
A Boone County judge has set a certification hearing for a 15-year-old boy accused of shooting another juvenile in east Columbia.
Police say the victim was critically injured in the August 25 shooting on Canaveral Road.
The hearing is scheduled for November 9 and will determine whether the teen’s case remains in juvenile court or moves to the adult court system.
The teen faces multiple charges, including first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.
He remains in state custody at a juvenile detention center.
