New Charges Filed in Fatal Columbia Hit-and-Run

Additional charges have been filed in connection with an August hit-and-run on East St. Charles Road in Columbia that left one man dead.

Court documents show Sandra M. Sharp now faces charges of hindering prosecution, resisting arrest and fourth-degree assault.

Police say Sharp was stopped the day after the crash while driving the vehicle involved. Investigators allege she was trying to move the vehicle for the driver.

Court documents say Sharp resisted officers and allegedly bit a detective during her arrest.

Sharp was a passenger during the August 14 crash that killed 47-year-old Mark Hunter Jr. of Columbia.

The driver, Shunta Bohanon, faces several felony charges and has a preliminary hearing Thursday.
