$17M Awarded to Help Missouri Veterans Facing Homelessness
The Department of Veterans Affairs is awarding 17 million dollars to 17 community organizations across Missouri to help veterans experiencing homelessness.
The funding will support programs providing housing assistance, case management and other services to veterans and their families.
VA officials say the grants will strengthen partnerships with community organizations and help connect veterans with safe, stable housing.
In Columbia, funding will go to Welcome Home, a nonprofit that helps homeless and at-risk veterans become self-supporting members of the community.
The grants are being distributed through the VA’s Supportive Services for Veterans Families and Grant and Per Diem programs.
