3 Juveniles Arrested After I-70 Shooting, Chase

Three juveniles are in custody after deputies say a failed drug deal led to gunfire and a high-speed chase on Interstate 70 in Montgomery County.

The sheriff’s office says the incident happened Monday afternoon near mile marker 183. Deputies say a masked person in a Jeep fired at another vehicle before leading officers on a chase that reached speeds of more than 110 miles per hour.

The Jeep crashed after going airborne in a construction zone. Two 17-year-olds and a 14-year-old were taken into custody, including the driver, who was found hiding in a lagoon.

Two vehicles were hit by gunfire, including the one they were following which was hit nine times, An uninvolved vehicle was hit by one bullet that went through its window and into the driver’s seat.

No one was hurt.

The juveniles are currently being held by juvenile authorities.
