Three Displaced After Jefferson City Kitchen Fire
One adult and two children are seeking temporary housing after a kitchen fire Tuesday afternoon in Jefferson City.
The Jefferson City Fire Department says crews were called to a duplex near the 1000 block of Elizabeth Street around 2:46 p.m.
Firefighters found a small kitchen fire and had it under control within about 10 minutes. The home was unoccupied at the time, and no injuries were reported.
The cause remains under investigation, but officials say the fire appears to have been accidental.
The Red Cross is assisting the family with temporary housing.
