Boonville Home Damaged by Electrical Fire

Two Boonville residents are displaced after an electrical fire damaged their home Thursday night.

The Boonville Fire Department says crews were called to the 1200 block of Rainbow Road around 8:27 p.m. and found heavy smoke and downed power lines after a large tree branch struck the lines.

Firefighters found the fire in the kitchen and adjoining living areas. Crews remained on scene for about four hours as utility workers removed the power lines.

One firefighter was treated for an electric shock, while one resident was treated for mild smoke inhalation. The Cooper County Fire Protection District, ambulance district and American Red Cross also assisted.
