Mizzou Homecoming Brings Increased Police Presence
Thousands of alumni, families and football fans are expected in Columbia this weekend for the University of Missouri’s 2026 Homecoming, and police are increasing security.
MUPD says detailed plans are in place to handle large crowds and keep people safe. The department will work with Columbia Police during Saturday’s Homecoming Parade, which begins at 9 a.m. on Rollins Street and ends downtown.
Police say roadblocks will help protect pedestrians, while Columbia officers will increase their downtown presence, including additional staffing and officers working overtime.
The increased security comes one year after Stephens College student Aiyanna Williams died in the early morning hours before last year’s Homecoming game.
