Texas Man Faces Hearing in Columbia Child Case
A Texas man accused of exchanging sexually explicit messages with a child in Columbia is scheduled for a preliminary hearing today in Boone County.
Thirty-three-year-old Michael R. Moya of Austin faces several felony charges. Investigators say he met the child through Xbox chat, allegedly posed as a 15-year-old and exchanged explicit content with the victim between February and March.
Police say the child’s mother discovered the messages and contacted authorities.
Moya was booked into the Boone County Jail and is being held without bond.
Moya’s preliminary hearing is set for 9:00 a.m, at the Boone County Courts
