Perkins Murder Trial
The prosecution and defense have rested their cases in the trial of 33-year-old Dalton Perkins, accused of killing his father near Sturgeon in May 2025.
Prosecutors called eight witnesses Thursday, including Perkins’ mother, who testified she saw her son grab a gun after an argument escalated.
Perkins has admitted shooting his father, Stephen Perkins, but his defense argues he acted in self-defense.
Closing arguments are scheduled for Friday morning, followed by jury deliberations. Perkins faces second-degree murder and other charges.
