Fulton Woman Faces Six Felonies After High-Speed Chase

A Fulton woman faces six felony charges after a high-speed chase and standoff with Callaway County deputies Saturday night.

Court documents say 29-year-old Sydney Akers allegedly drove more than 100 miles per hour, collided with patrol cars and refused to exit her vehicle.

During a 20-to-30-minute standoff, a deputy fired a gun but missed.

Deputies also used a beanbag round and a less-lethal launcher before taking Akers into custody.

Court documents say a breath test showed her blood alcohol level was point one-three-five.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating. Akers is scheduled to return to court October 23rd.
