A 40-year-old Glasgow man is dead following a crash Thursday evening on U.S. 40 east of Rocheport.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a Chevrolet Equinox struck a deer near Rocheport Gravel Road, sending the animal into the windshield of an oncoming Jeep.
The deer struck the driver, who then lost control and ran off the road into trees.
The man died at the scene. The crash forced U.S. 40 to close for about an hour. It marks Troop F’s 56th traffic fatality of the year.
