Columbia and Jefferson City Approve Drug Monitoring Program

The city councils of two mid- Missouri Cities have approved drug monitoring programs for their communities.

Columbia and Jefferson City have both voted to join St. Louis County’s already existing program.

The new ordinances will require pharmacies to join the prescription drug monitoring program, so prescriptions can be tracked when they are written and filled in an attempt to stop people from going to multiple doctors to acquire narcotics.
