The average cost of Thanksgiving Day dinner this year will cost most Americans about a penny more according to the 34th annual survey by the American Farm Bureau Federation.
The survey found that the classic items found on the on the Thanksgiving Day dinner table today for ten people will run $48.91, which is a one cent increase from last year’s average of $48.90.
Missourians will pay slightly less than the national average, a Thanksgiving meal for 10 people in Missouri is $46.67 according to the Missouri Farm Bureau.
The turkey costs slightly less than last year, at $20.80 for a 16 pound bird, or about $1.30 per pound.
Foods showing modest increases this year included dinner rolls, sweet potatoes and milk.
