Missouri House Votes To End Tax Break

The Missouri House has voted to pass a proposal that would end a tax break for disabled renters and low-income senior citizens.

The House voted 85 to 72 yesterday to get rid of a roughly 55 million dollar a year tax break, saying the money could be used to prevent cuts proposed by Governor Eric Greitens to in home nursing care services during the next fiscal year.

Supporters of the proposal say the in home services are more helpful than a few hundred dollars in tax credits, while opponents say it could hinder people’s ablity to live independently.
