A Monroe City man will spend 10 year in prison after pleading guilty yesterday to kidnapping a woman and her child while he was using heroin on July 17, 2016.
37 year old Cornell Marks pleaded guilty to kidnapping, felonious restraint, endangering the welfare of a child and driving while revoked.
Marks forced the victim to drive from Monroe City to St. Louis. He also allegedly hit her 40 to 60 times during the trip. She reports losing consciousness several times. Marks did lines of heroin while driving the car.
Marks was arrested in Bel Ridge, where authorities had to administer Narcan to counteract a heroin overdose.
