Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley announced his plan to crackdown on human trafficking in the state today.
His plan will include setting up a permanent Human Trafficking Task Force, prohibiting the use of businesses as fronts for trafficking, making debt bondage illegal, and provide new civil and criminal penalties for sex traffickers.
The task force will coordinate law enforcement, prosecutors, social services, victims advocates and survivors.
The new regulations will be the first of their kind in the country.
