Hannibal Police Warn About Pet Safety in Excessive Heat

An excessive heat warning is in effect in the listening area until Saturday night and Hannibal Police are reminding folks with the high heat and humidity that your pets are at risk.

Mike Routh Patrol Lieutenant with the Hannibal Police Department says our pets can suffer the same kind of health related issues from the heat that we do.

Routh says there department is also reminding pet owners to be aware of the hot asphalt that they walk their pets on as it can burn their paws quickly.
