A motion filed for a continuance for the sentencing of a former Mexico Band Director has been denied by the Audrain County Court today. [Thursday]
According to court records, Robert Cortez entered a guilty plea for 2 counts of sexual contact with a student in October.
Cortez allegedly touched the male student above and below his clothing on a trip to Columbia.
Cortez’s attorney had asked for a continuance due to a medical issue. The court reports that after discussions with Cortez’s treating doctor, he is ordered to appear on December 4th for sentencing.
