MBOE Ousts Vandeven

The Missouri School Board of Education voted today to fire commissioner Margie Vandeven in a 5 to 3 vote today. [Friday]

Vandeven says serving as commissioner has been an opportunity she will always cherish.

Governor Eric Greitens appointed Eric Teeman to the board this morning after Claudia Greim resigned last night.

Roger Dorson is now the interim commissioner.

In a statement Greitens said “today, kids, teachers, and families won. The State Board of Education voted for new leadership for our school system. That’s a major step in the right direction as we work to improve public education in Missouri.”
