More Than 8000 With Flu To Start 2018

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services says influenza in the state is wide spread.

In the first week of 2018 alone, a total of 8,187 people were diagnosed with Influenza, 82 percent of them being type A.


The Centers for Disease Control reports there was a sharp increase in the number of confirmed cases in the last week of 2017, that has carried over in to the new year.

In the first week of 2018, there were 19 influenza associated deaths in the state, with the total for the end of 2017 was 52.
