Audrain K9 Officer Gets New Vest

With just a few weeks before the Audrain County Sheriff’s Department new K9 Officer, Chal, will take his certification tests, some Vandalia area residents have done their part to ensure he is safe in the field.

Sheriff Matt Oller said the donors, who wish to remain anonymous, paid for the vest that is both bullet and stab proof. The vest was delivered to the Boone County K9 Training Grounds yesterday [Thursday] and fitted to Chal.

An Audrain County badge has been ordered and will be added once it arrives.

The vest cost approximately 1 thousand dollars.
