Investigative Committee Announced, Republicans Call For Resignation

Missouri Speaker of the House Todd Richardson held a press conference announcing the formation of a committee to investigate allegations that Governor Eric Greitens took a nude photo of a woman he admitted to having an extramarital affair with.

Jay Barnes has been announced as the committee chairman. Barnes said the the task of the committee is to investigate facts in a fair, timely and through manner without preordained results. In the end they will produce a report and make recommendations based on where the facts lead them.

Barnes also said there is no time frame set up for the report to be issued, however, the investigative committee will not waste time.

Immediately following the announcement of the committee, a group of about a dozen republicans called for the resignation of the governor, saying the indictment was a huge distraction from what lawmakers need to do for the state of Missouri.
