The New Bloomfield chief of police is resigning after being told that he violated city policy.
According to a FaceBook post from now former New Bloomfield Chief of Police Greg Mooney was given the option to resign last (Wednesday) night in lieu of being fired.
Mooney went on to say he was informed that talking to the media and posting public information without permission, was a violation of city policy.
The Facebook page Mooney posted on is scheduled for deletion in 14 days at the request of the mayor and mayor pro-tem.
