A young bald eagle was killed after being hit by a semi truck on CC near Rowena in Audrain County Thursday night.
According to Conservation Agent, Norman Steelman, the man who hit the eagle called to make him aware, and he recovered the remains.
Today, [Friday] the bird was taken to the Mexico Middle School and to Eugene Field Second Grade Rooms to provide an up close educational experience.
The eagle will now be sent to Colorado to a repository, according to Steelman, and it’s feathers will be given to Native Americans.
