KXEO Sports Report for 3/19/18: Bulldogs Baseball Tough Start on Weekend Season Opening Road Trip

The Mexico Bulldogs Baseball team is 0-3 after a rough start to the opening of their season over the weekend.

The Bulldogs lost Friday 10-5 to Mansfield a defending state champion.


On Saturday the Bulldogs dropped a doubleheader.

The first was a 10-2 loss to Marshfield, the second game was a 14-4 loss to Excelsior Springs.

Bulldogs Skipper Keith Louder says the team needs to work on consistency on defense side.

The Bulldogs Junior Varsity and Varsity have their home and conference opener scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday) night against Marshall weather permitting.

The 24th ranked Missouri Tigers Baseball team dropped the rubber game 7-5 against the 16th Ranked LSU Tigers yesterday (Sunday).

Mizzou scored two runs in the first inning, however LSU scored single runs in each of the first three innings before putting the game away with a three run sixth inning.

Mizzou fell to 15-5 overall and 1-2 in the SEC.

The St. Louis Cardinals walloped the Washington Nationals 10-0 yesterday (Sunday) in Spring Training.

After the game the Redbirds optioned six players to Triple AAA Memphis.

Amongst the players optioned was backup catcher Carson Kelly.

Cardinals Manger Mike Matheny said that Kelly needs to keep his skills sharp by playing in Memphis instead of waiting in St. Louis.

The Kansas City Royals beat the Chicago Cubs 11-9.
