Ashland Voters Sales Tax Increase Ballot Issue

Ashland residents will be asked about a half-cent sales tax increase on the April 3rd ballot that would be used to fund parks and storm water projects.

The city of Ashland is asking the residents to approve a sales tax increase from 7.975 percent to 8.475 percent.

Residents would pay about fifty cents extra in sales tax for every one hundred dollars spent.

If the measure is approved it is estimated the sales tax increase would generate one hundred forty to one hundred seventy thousand dollars extra per year.
