The St. Louis Cardinals got off to a rough start to the 2018 season with a 9-4 loss to the New York Mets yesterday (Thursday).

Redbirds starting pitcher Carlos Martinez walked six in and allowed four earned runs.

Yadier Molina set a club record with his 14th opening day start at catcher and jacked a two run homer in the second inning.

The Cardinals are off today (Friday).

 

The Kansas City Royals lost 14-7 to the Chicago White Sox at Kauffman Stadium yesterday (Thursday).

The Royals jumped out to a 4-0 nothing lead, however imploded in the fourth inning when starting pitcher Danny Duffy allowed White Sox hitters to bat around and giving up back to back homers.

The Royals off today (Friday) and resume their series with the White Sox tomorrow (Saturday) night.
