Westminster To Commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Westminster College in Fulton will be holding a special national commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the death of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the National Churchill Museum.

There will be a screening of part of Dr. King’s “I’ve been to the Mountaintop” speech, the last he ever gave on the evening before he was shot to death at the Mason Temple in Memphis, Tennessee.

Following the viewing of the speech the bells at St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury will join churches and other public institutions across the nation in ringing 39 times, one for every year of Dr. King’s Life.

The event will begin at 5:45 on Wednesday.
