Mexico City Council Chooses Local Business For Truck Purchase

At last night’s City Council meeting the board voted to approve the purchase of a single axel dump truck locally over the low bid.

Randy Meyers, owner of Meyers Truck Service, spoke at the meeting and told the board he entered the bid, and although it was not the lowest, he chose to include everything the city specified in the open bid.

Per city policy the lowest bid, and the one recommended by staff, was made by Columbia Freightliner. The difference between the bids was $1456.

Additionally, a bid was accepted in the amount of $60,000 for new playground equipment at Fairground Park. Hutchinson Recreation Design won the contract.

The property at 2997 South Clark is now zoned C2 General Commercial for the development of HomeBank.
