Fourth of July Pet Safety

The Fourth of July can be a frightening and stressful day for pets.

The American Veterinary Medical Association recommends making sure all pets have up to date identifcation tags in case they escape, and leave pets at home when attending parades, parties or fireworks displays.

The American Kennel Club says to keep pets in a room where they are comfortable and lowering the blinds and turning on the TV to avoid scaring the animal.

After the festivities, make sure all firework debris is picked up from where the pet plays.
