The Columbia School District is adding an extra safety feature for its school buildings.
The board of education gave approval to start construction for a security window film at the new Cedar Ridge Elementary Building at last (Monday) nights meeting.
The film is made to add an additional layer so the glass in the window does not shatter.
The district currently uses it in 15 buildings, so far it has cost $73,907.00 to install.
A spokesperson for the district says safety is a number one priority.
