The Mexico Middle School is one step closer to implementing a softball program.
It was a topic of discussion at today’s (Friday) board of education meeting.
Mexico Superintendent Dr. Zach Templeton says over the last month costs for the program have been the discussion.
As far as a place where the team will play Templeton says the school inquiring about using the Optimist Ball Field.
It is estimated it would cost about ten thousand dollars per year to run the softball program.
The board will vote on the proposal during the August meeting. If it passes the goal is to have a team ready to go for the 2019-2020 school year.
