Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest For Assault, Weapon Charge

A traffic stop in Vandalia over the weekend led to the capture of a man wanted out of Callaway County for domestic assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

The Vandalia Police Department reports 35 year old Ryan Breden of Vandalia was stopped in the area of Washington Street and Vine Street for speeding.

Breden was taken into custody and transported to the Vandalia Police Department for processing. He posted the required $15,000 bond and was released.

He was also issued a citation for driving while suspended and given a municipal court date to appear.
