Mexico Girls Softball Second Place Finish In Battle Tournament

The Mexico girls softball team reeled off three wins in a long day at the Battle Tournament in Columbia.

Rain on Friday moved all the games to today (Saturday) that started at 8:30 this morning.

In the opening game the Bulldogs defeated Helias 3-2.

In the next Mexico cruised past Eldon in 4 innings with an 11-1 victory.

The Lady Dogs then defeated the host team Battle 9-0 to earn a spot in the championship game against Blue Springs South.

Mexico suffered their first loss on the season 7-1 in the championship against Blue Springs South and claimed runner up honors.

The Bulldogs are 4-1 on the season.
