National Guard Injured When Shots Fired
A member of the national guard was injured yesterday [MONDAY] at the National Guard Training site southwest of Macon.
Deputies and the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a report of an active shooter. Law enforcement could still hear shots upon arrival.
Investigation revealed a neighboring landowner was sighting in a rifle next to the property and was unaware anything was wrong.
The victim was injured by shrapnel when a bullet went through the windshield. He was taken to Samaritan Hospital before being transferred to University Hospital in Columbia.
