Highway Patrol, Callaway Deputies Search For Suspects Near Kingdom City

UPDATE:  The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office reported at just after 4:00 today that after an extensive search of the area, they have concluded the second suspect has fled the Kingdom City area.  The Missouri State Highway Patrol will continue the initial investigation.

UPDATE: The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office reported at 3:18 they have detained one person in relation to this incident, and they are still searching for the second subject.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is searching for at least one person in the Kingdom City area after driving off of Interstate 70 to avoid being stopped by a trooper just before 11:00 this morning. [Wednesday]

According to Sgt. Scott White with the Highway Patrol, a trooper was following a vehicle with stolen plates, and the driver drove off the Interstate near the 147 mile marker, crossing the outer road into a field.

The suspects are only described as being a white male and possibly a white female.

The search area is focused south and west of Kingdom City in the area of County Roads 220 and 210.

Citizens are reminded to lock their homes and vehicles, and to report any suspicious activity to the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office.
