The Mexico City Council met last night [Tuesday] and approved providing funding for 2 community organizations and decided on filing dates for the 2019 General Municipal election.
The Council had budgeted $13 thousand for the Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce for marketing activities, and $5 thousand to help offset operational costs at the Laura Miller George Help Center.
One position will be opened up as City Council Member Chris Williams term will come to an end. The council is allowing candidates for file from December 11, 2018 through January 15, 2019. The election will take place on April 2nd.
The city is purchasing an upgraded piece of equipment for surveying. The robotic total station will cost $14,795, more than $1 thousand under budget.
